Disability Program Services (DPS)
Our Disabilities Services Case Managers can assist individuals disabilities "navigate" through the enormous challenges of seeking work. Complex rules surrounding entitlement programs, along with fear of losing cash assistance and health benefits, can often discourage people with disabilities from working. Our DPS Case Managers can better inform beneficiaries and other people with disabilities about the work support programs now available at the American Job Center-East. These Centers provide information, training and other employment-related services at a single customer-friendly location. This program works to achieve seamless, comprehensive and integrated access to services, creating systemic change and expanding the workforce development system's capacity to serve customers with disabilities and employers.
DPS Case Managers are knowledgeable on a broad range of federal, state, local and private work incentives and other employment support programs and services. We also provide an informative workshop, Disabilities Awareness Resources, at each of the 3 American Job Center-East. The purpose of this Workshop is to increase accessibility to the One-Stop Centers by empowering customers through information on resources that are available to the Disabled. The workshop includes information on the following: American Job Center-East services, BRS, PABSS, SSA Work Incentives, Connect to Work Centers, Connect-ability Web-Site, DNEC, and an array of Resource Snapshots Materials.
